We’ve arrived at the end of the year, and that means a big rush to get in those last sales before the New Year. Here are some tips to get you selling.

  1. Offer end-of-year discounts/incentives. You’ve probably already offered Black Friday and Cyber Monday discounts, but what about a deal for the New Year? It can give you one last sales push for the end of the year (or the start of the next one). Your PhotoBiz tools, including custom landing pages and pop-ups, can come in handy to promote savings on a last-minute photo shoot, discounts on prints, or deals on gift cards for your customers.

  2. Think about the future. Gift cards are a great way to go, not just for your customers, but for their friends and family. People can purchase a digital gift card to give during the holidays, and then schedule a photo shoot or order prints and products whenever they’re ready.

  3. Reach out to customers you haven’t spoken with in a while. You never know when a customer might be ready for a new photo shoot. Send an email reminding them about your services and that they were on your mind. Maybe that wedding couple is ready for a maternity or new baby shoot. Or that new baby shoot you did last year might be ready for one-year-old family photos. Taking a few minutes to reach out can remind customers why they chose you and be just the encouragement they need to use you again.

  4. Inform customers early of any price increases in the New Year. Encourage them to “buy now and save,” before the price goes up.

  5. Set yourself up for success in the New Year. You don’t need to wait until the calendar changes to get a jump on next year. Start selling photo sessions for next year. Remind your customers that you book up quickly during certain times of the year, so now’s the time to lock in your date.

  6. Send out thank you cards. Don’t let the end of the year go by without thanking your customers and vendors. A small note makes people feel good about working with you and can go a long way toward earning repeat business.

  7. Take care of yourself. It’s probably been a very busy season for your photography business. A break can help refresh you. Whether that’s now before the end-of-year rush, or later, it’s important to plan breaks in addition to big sales pushes.
