Have you received a suspicious email about your domain name registration from a person and company you’ve never heard of before? Chances are this a phishing attempt.

We frequently receive questions about domain name registration. Recently, we’ve gotten a number of questions about an email that looks very similar to the one below and comes from a sender named Joe Miller. This is what’s known as a phishing email and you can protect yourself from these by enabling the Google reCAPTCHA tool that is included with your PhotoBiz account. There’s a few easy steps to set up the tool and stop messages like this from being sent through your website forms.

Pro Tip: You can easily check and see where your domain name is registered by looking at a public whois report. The report lists what company your domain is registered with and when it is up for renewal. Your domain name may be registered through your PhotoBiz account or another provider.

It is very easy to enable Google reCAPTCHA in a few short steps. It stops spam bots from submitting your forms and leaving comments on your blog posts. The great thing is, it’s totally free. Watch the following video to learn how easy it is to add it Google reCAPTCHA to your site:

What else can I do?

SSL encryption is included with your PhotoBiz website. It is important to activate it in your settings. In case you missed the announcement on that previously, you have the ability to block email addresses, domains, and IP addresses from contacting you through your forms.

Did you know?

You also have options to transfer your domain name registration to PhotoBiz. This is a great way to have everything related to your website all in one place, instead of using a third party for your domain registration.

If you have any questions about configuring your Google reCAPTCHA, or notifications you get through your PhotoBiz CRM, don’t hesitate to give our team a call at 866.463.7620, Monday through Friday, 9 AM – 8 PM ET.
