Rebekah Gregg has built her photography business on a foundation of authenticity, personalization, and an unwavering commitment to delivering not just photos, but experiences. From her early days in photography to her ongoing success, her work is a reflection of the individuality of each client she photographs.

Personalization & Client Experience

Authenticity is the heart of Rebekah’s work, particularly when it comes to high school seniors. Her goal is to ensure that every session reflects the unique personality of her client.

"I'm glad to hear that authenticity and individuality come through in my work! It's consistently one of the things that parents and students mention as a reason they chose me," says Rebekah.

Her process begins with a personalized approach: a quick follow-up text after a client inquiry, an introductory phone call with both the student and parent, and a questionnaire to better understand each senior’s personality.

"A couple of my favorite questions to ask are: 'What are 2-3 words your friends would use to describe you? If you don't know, just ask them!' and 'Who are some of your current favorite bands or musicians?' Music is really important to me, and it helps me understand them better. Plus, their friends’ responses are always a confidence booster!"

Digital vs. Tangible Products

In a world where digital images dominate, Rebekah strongly believes in the importance of printed albums and wall art.

"I learned this lesson firsthand. My oldest two kids were born before I had a digital camera, so we printed all their baby pictures. But with my younger two, we started printing less because everything was digital. Then, we lost an entire year of pictures when our computer crashed. I know from experience how important it is to print!"

She educates parents on the value of tangible images, emphasizing that their investment deserves more than just an Instagram post.

Social Media & Online Presence

Rebekah leverages her website and social media together to maximize her online presence.

"PhotoBiz makes it so easy to create great blog posts that I can link to on Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest! I’ve even stopped paying extra for separate services like questionnaires and landing pages because PhotoBiz provides all those tools. I can do everything I need right on my website!"

Balancing Senior & Family Photography

Although she has primarily focused on senior portraits, Rebekah is now expanding back into family photography.

"My youngest son is graduating this year, my daughter is away at college, and my oldest son has a family of his own. It’s much harder to get us all together in one place now. It just hit me how grateful I am to have our family portraits from when it was just the six of us. I want everyone to have those memories."

Pricing & Profitability

Many photographers struggle with pricing, but Rebekah ensures that her rates reflect her level of service and expertise.

"I wanted to offer something more than what the average photographer provides. I strive to make sure parents and students feel informed at every step, from detailed location and outfit planning to helping them navigate unexpected issues. I’ve even helped clients find last-minute replacements for outfits that didn’t work!"

Moving into in-person sales (IPS) was a big step, but one that paid off.

"I was hesitant, but I knew I wanted to offer physical products. Having clients come to my office to see album cover options and frames makes all the difference in helping them make the best choice."

Her advice to other photographers?

"Pay yourself what you're worth. You're working for yourself—be a good boss! You might lose some clients when you raise your prices, but you’ll gain the ones who truly value what you do."

The Role of Film in a Digital World

Film photography has become a defining aspect of Rebekah’s work.

"Film absolutely transformed my business! Some photographers see the cost of film and developing as prohibitive, but for me, it’s an investment that saves me time. Instead of spending hours editing, I send my film to Richard Photo Lab and have my session fully edited in about an hour."

Her clients are often drawn to the aesthetic of film without even realizing it.

"People will tell me they love 'how I edit' my pictures, and I tell them it’s because I use film! It also helps students relax—since they can't ask to see the back of the camera, they put full trust in me."

Booking & Client Communication

Rebekah has streamlined her booking process to make it as efficient as possible.

"Most of my clients find me through an online search. After our initial phone call, I send an informational email with all my open session dates and a direct booking link on my website. PhotoBiz makes it easy to create contracts with a retainer payment attached, so I don’t have to send multiple emails back and forth."

Marketing & Standing Out in a Competitive Market

The Atlanta photography market is competitive, but Rebekah has found success through strategic SEO and blogging.

"I rely heavily on my website SEO! Can I confess that I've never actually paid for an ad?! Most of my clients find me through online searches. I attribute that to consistent blogging, which is free! PhotoBiz makes it easy to optimize my SEO for every page and blog post, helping me extend my reach."

She also believes her polished website gives her a competitive edge.

"Having an attractive, easy-to-use, reliable website lends credibility that you can’t get from just a Facebook page. When people are looking for an experienced professional, they want to see that professionalism reflected online."

Parent & Senior Perspectives

Senior portraits are an important milestone, and Rebekah ensures that both students and parents feel heard.

"Students and parents almost always have different goals! Seniors want social media-worthy images, while parents want printed keepsakes. Parents also tend to prefer classic ‘looking at the camera’ shots, while students love more candid, artistic poses. I make sure to provide both!"

Beyond just delivering great images, she recognizes the emotional journey of senior year.

"It’s a pivotal time for families. Kids are making major life decisions, and parents are learning to let go. I want to make this experience as stress-free as possible for them."

Future Goals & Growth

Looking ahead, Rebekah is focused on refining her processes while also embracing creativity.

"I’m in a bit of a holding pattern, just fine-tuning my workflow. But I’m also allowing myself to be more creative with in-camera multiple exposures, light leaks, and other artistic techniques to give my clients something truly unique!"

Rebekah's kind words to us:

"I appreciate everything you and the rest of the PhotoBiz Team have done for me these last 14 years! I'm incredibly thankful to have had a PhotoBiz website from the very beginning of this small business of mine. You all have helped me become more successful and have helped me be able to earn the money I need to do things like pay for my kids' college tuitions and keeping them clothed and for fun things like a 25th anniversary trip to Paris for my husband and I! Being able to make and reach these financial goals has been a HUGE thing for me and my family! Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!"
